If your graphics live in Canva, you have probably done this loop more times than you want to count: open the design, export it, find the file in your downloads, then upload it again on the other side. Every post, every time.
You can skip it. Authorize Canva once and your designs appear inside the post editor, alongside everything else in your library.
What you can do once it is connected
- Browse your designs where you are already working. Open your library or start a post, and your Canva designs are there to pick from.
- Find things the way you filed them. Search by Canva folder, subfolder, custom tag or design name, so a large account stays workable.
- Get the full-resolution file automatically. The highest-resolution version of the design comes across when you attach it, without you choosing an export size.
- Stop exporting and re-uploading. No download step, no hunting for the file, no duplicate copies piling up in two places.
Connect it once
- Open the post editor, or go to your asset library.
- Click the Canva tab.
- Sign in with your Canva account and authorize the connection.
- Pick a design. It imports and attaches to the post.
The connection stays put after that, so this is a one-time setup rather than something you repeat each session.
One limitation worth knowing up front
The integration is built for static images. If you are working with a multi-page design or a video, export those from Canva as individual files and upload them the usual way. Knowing that now saves you a confusing few minutes later, when a multi-page design does not behave like a single graphic.
Where this fits
Most of the time saved here is not in any single post. It is in the twentieth one, when the export-download-upload loop would otherwise have run twenty times. If you schedule in batches, or run a campaign with a dozen graphics behind it, this is the step that quietly disappears.
